I agree, as much as this is a unique look for Iron Man, I never had a like for it personally, sure it does stand out from the more mundane offerings in both comic art and figure forms, but I just don't feel like it felt Iron Man enough...it has a real "of it's time" look, I think it seems they did a good job on this figure though, and from what I hear the people who want this figure are pleased with the outcome, Me I am very happy to pass on yet another Iron Man, sometimes things like this make me happy there is no BAF, because this wouldn't even be a figure I bought for my collection on sale, I have no interest.

I love the body sculpt but headsculpt isn't doing it for me, I can't fault Hasbro for having this interpretation it just doesn't align with my idea of Ultimate Iron Man helmet. I'm really glad to see Hasbro finally giving us ball jointed waist along with ball jointed upper torso, I really hope we see this often in the line. I also wish the red to be way more metallic, I get that in other Iron Man figures where red is majority of the figure using metallic red paint is not cost effective but here red is minimla they really could have done it the right way, especially when original Ultimate Iron Man figure from Hasbro had Vacuum Chrome red.
Now this just may be one of the hasbo legends I buy. The unique design of it and how it differs from the "prime" Marvel comic universe always appealed to me for some reason. I imagine eventually they'll do Ultimate Hippy Thor and his ridiculous big azz axe hammer. I still have the vacu-plated Iron Man from about 11-13 years ago (?); it did look like a half-finished custom job because the grey had no paint at all, but still....
Iron Man looks great. Hopefully we get some more Ultimate characters soon. I wouldnt mind them dipping into the current Ultimate books either, as theyve been splendid.

Not a bad figure. I was initially concerned about his height but he's right in there with most Iron Man figures. The head seams a bit small to fit a whole human head but it's not the first time Hasbro's done a pin head. Poor Monet. At least she's not alone.
