Spider-Man 2099 was always drawn as someone who looks muscular in the best traditions of 90s, even box art showcases that, Original Mafex Spidey was already on the skinny side for Peter but that was acceptable due to Peter being drawn that way often enough but situation isn't the same with Miguel. If this figure was similar to the Mafex Nightwing it really could have been something more interesting but what we got is just a "skin" for Peter, I hope Hasbro's version won't be this disappointing.

This right here. I am not going to say mafex sucks cuz they are ok but IMO besides there generally terrible headscuplts, soft paint applications, limited accessories there resuse is just striking. They push reuse so far for many of their figures, and I get it due to profit margins and what have you. But for a supposedly premium company, they just lack in so many areas that it feels explicitly lazy. Yes, they have some studs, I.e Daredevil (still not a fan of the heads), but for the actual MSRP of $60 USD they're getting blown away by up-and-coming licensed companies like Inart/LPZZ/Lingjihun(memory toys) at around the same price point, not even mentioning what a game changer Jada is at the domestic pricepoint. As it stands, that gap is glaring. And what makes things worse is a drastically different physical character like Peter vs Miguel they reuse the skinny body. It just doesn't make sense, and sadly people eat it up so it's not going to change as people do with most brands, including ML. So I hope ML team does Miguel justice this time around.

Wow. How very underwhelming. Would you call me crazy if I actually thought the Older Hasbro one on the outdated Pizza Spidey mold was better? Because it is. This thing is completely pointless. And it doesn't even have as many accessories that that $120+ gets you.

Been hungry for a new Spider-man 2099 figure. This figure looks stunning, as is to be expected from Mafex. Unfortunately, Mafex is always a bit out of my budget. Here's hoping that the leaks are true and we're getting an updated version from Hasbro!
