DC Direct Modern Age Superman Figure Review

Randy Herkowitz sends us a review of the new Modern Age Superman figure from DC Direct.



Superman is most likely the most popular superhero ever! There have been dozens of reproductions of the man of steal. Some good and some bad. DC Direct has provided us fans with a brand new action figure of DC Comics most famous hero.

The sculpt of DC Directs Superman is wonderful. This is a very modern representation. The detail in the face is very strong. The body is sculpted in Superman's muscular glory. There is little to no flaw in this design. The Paint applications on the figures I've seen are flawless. Great colors and little sloppiness.

The articulation is descent for a DC Direct figure. However, if compared to the amazing articulation of Toybiz' Marvel Legends line, this figure would be considered lacking. The highlight is the neck joint. You can swivel it around and pose him in flight position.

Superman comes equipped with a non-removable cape and superman symbol stand.

All in all, this is the nicest Superman figure since 1984's Super Powers superman. Great sculpt, descent articulation and the appropriate accessories. Now, if only DC Direct would lower the retail price a couple bucks.
