Oh yeah, the sculpts didn't match the packaging art for some reason.
Because the figures are what were reported as the prototypes, and the package pics are what were supposed to be the final molds:

No clue why, though, but I'm a bit disappointed, as the supposedly-final molds looked far superior.
Hi guys, I found the first wave of these at Target. I picked up the Venom, Doc Ock, and Spider-Man with interchangeable head. The only one I didn't see was the Black Costume Spider-Man. Unfortunately these were 9.99 each, which is really expensive IMO for a cartoon line. I felt kinda bad buying these, since they're aimed at kids... but the cartoon isn't out yet and they probably couldn't afford them.... I'll try to get some pics up. I really like the Spiderman w/ the interchangable Peter Parker head. I think he's the only one I'll pick up though. I do like the animated style and I think Spidey would look awesome neat to the animated version of Optimus Prime, but with so many cool things coming out I think I have to limit myself to that one figure.

these don't look that bad.
I agree. A lot of folks complaining about them but they are stylized from the series. I wasn't that crazy about the "The Batman" figures till I got all addicted to the series. Odd though that they aren't showing the Vulture or Electro since they are like the first two baddies out the gate in the show, right?
Oh, well. Probably pick these up for the young geeks I'm mentoring to take my place.
GEEK
The animated Venom reminds me a lot of the Japanese Ultimate Spiderman series. But the animated Sandman looks real good.
Hmm yeah it does remind me of that.
Shoot I may end up getting these. There's too much to buy... I'm scared for my wallet.
