Ryan Reynolds wanted it and he is getting it. After years of lobbying for the role and finally being rewarded with a huge opening for his debut in the recent “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” Ryan Reynolds has complete control over the character of Wade Wilson. Recently, Reynolds talked to
MTV and gives some clues on some of the characters he expects to see in the “Deadpool” spinoff movie.
“I love it, because I get to be involved,” Reynolds said of his role in the fast-tracked development of a Deadpool spin-off film. “And I’m such a huge fan of the character.”
Currently, Reynolds and the studio are seeking a director and writer(s) for the film, and listening to plenty of ideas about where Wade’s story should go. Fortunately for the die-hard fans, Reynolds has no intention of letting the film stray too far from its comic origins.
“I get to be the authentication police, in a weird way,” grinned Reynolds. “To their credit — the studio’s credit — they want to make an authentic ‘Deadpool’ movie; they want to make it as close to the source material as possible.” “He’s going to be the Merc with the Mouth, [we’re going to give] all those answers that everyone wants,” Reynolds explained. “He’s going to have the scarred-up face, he’s going to be in the suit — and, it’s going to be incredible.”
I have been a huge Deadpool fan for almost 6 years now (I only got into comics five years ago) and he is my second favorite character in comic books. I have been waiting for this movie since i heard of the character and now that it's about to come to fruition all I can say is that I hope they do it right. From what I hear Reynolds is a bigger fan than I am and he has total control over the character, and he said in the interview with MTV that we're getting scars and a costume, so hopefully I see what I oh, so love to read.
I's sometimes troublesome when you hear an actor or director is a big fan. They might take that as a green light to "interpret" the character as they see fit. Look what Kevin Smith did to DD in both the movie and the comic and what Bret Ratner did to the X-Men in X-3. Both were professed fans but still managed to screw those flicks up. Full character control to the actor sounds like a travesty in the making. No producer worth his weight in salt would ever allow an actor to have full control of a character.

well, good to hear but wait and see. not so into 20th century fox movies lately. i think the last realy good movie, i saw from them was x-2.
This is good considering Wolverine Origins did an excellent job on crapping all over Deadpool's name not to mention Wolverines. Lets hope this Deadpool movie will have that redeeming quality.
Thank God. Now lets just hope what he said rings true
