Captain America - Emily Blunt Turns Down Lead Female Role

Jay Cochran - April 04, 2010
For the past few weeks, Marvel Studios was testing leads for the female role of Peggy Carter in Joe Johnstonís The First Avenger: Captain America. Right now, the three main actresses on the list are: Keira Knightley, Alice Eve and Emily Blunt.

LA Times is reporting that Marvel made an offer to Blunt, but the actress has officially passed.

This is the second Marvel movie that Blunt has turned down. The first being Iron Man 2 and the role of Black Widow, but was forced to pull out due to an option Fox used to cast the actress in Gulliverís Travels.
