Heat Vision is reporting that filmmakers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are in talks with Columbia Pictures to direct the sequel to the 2007 Ghost Rider movie which is tentatively being called “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.”
The article goes on to say Nicholas Cage who played the role of Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze in the first movie is also in negotiations to reprise his role for the movie as well, however there have been rumblings in recent weeks that Cage would not be able to take on the role due to conflicting movie projects the actor is already committed to. The studio has to move forward with a sequel soon or the movie rights revert back to Marvel Entertainment. The first Ghost Rider movie which was panned by critics and made $230 million worldwide.
Ari Arad, Michael De Luca and Steven Paul will be producing while David Goyer who wrote the the script for this one will be an executive producer along with Mark Steven Johnson. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are also writer and they may also ended up working on the final draft for the script as well.
