Talking to
IGN during a press junket for the upcoming Sony thriller "Salt," actor Liev Schreiber confirmed that he would not be reprising his role of Cotton in "Scream 4," not did it seem likely that he would be reprising his role as the X-Men villain Sabretooth in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel that is slated to begin filming in January 2011 from 20th Century Fox.
"It's not in my hands," says the actor. "It's a studio thing. People liked the character, it seemed like people liked the character. And I'd love to do it again, but I think the storyline that they're going to go with is in Japan. I think part of it, I don't know -- I try not to second-guess the studios, but I feel like sometimes when they make a sequel they have to have a new villain. I haven't even seen the script."
It has been said that the story for the second Wolverine film will be set in Japan and be based on the classic storyline by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller in which Wolverine goes up against a ninja clan known as "The Hand." Sabretooth played no part in the original telling of that story which appeared in the first Wolverine Limited-Series from Marvel Comics.
