THR reports that Campbell Scott (Royal Pains) and Julianne Nicholson (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) are looking to sign on to the new Marc Webb directed Spider-Man movie which will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

The two are said to be taking on the roles of Peter's parents who in the comics both died mysteriously when peter was very young leaving him to be raised by his aunt and uncle.

The article also states that Irrfan Khan (Slumdog Millionaire) is in talks to play the role of a villain named Van Atter. Khan would be the second villain slated for this movie as it was previously reported that actor Rhys Ifans would also be playing an as-of-yet unnamed villain in the movie.

The Van Atter character will have a wife who is said to be played by actress Annie Parisse (Rubicon).
