After seeing Morbius I have very low expectations of anything Sony does with their own Marvel properties and especially this movie since the script is already finished and won't change much and likely will be very similar to Morbius and Venom. Sony pictures need to understand It's not the 90s anymore we need a better more creative approach to properties, that are somewhat closer to Joker movie or at least MCU stuff rather than some banal cookie cutter action movies from the previous decade. Venom very likely created the impression that just because Tom Hardy does such an amazing job with Venom which results in considerable box office revenue it's a sign of audiences accepting those boring uninspiring scripts they give us, maybe low box office of Morbius will be enough of a reason to show how erroneous their mindset is.

watch it's set in a weird universe where Spider-Man is only a child before he got bit by the spider, and Kraven takes young peter parker under his wing
Sony loves being wackadoozle
