Magneto Comiquette From Sideshow Toy

Jay Cochran - July 26, 2006

Sideshow Collectibles has captured Magneto, the Master of Magnetism, and all of his formidable power in this 18-inch tall Comiquette. The pose is powerfully dramatic, incredibly dynamic, as Magneto rises from the ground, his cape billowing behind him, and arm outstretched as he commands any and all metal within his reach. The Magneto Comiquette is cast in high-quality polystone, hand-finished and hand-painted to exacting standards. Each piece is packed in a durable foam interior, ready for safe shipment, and packaged in a beautiful full-color box. Don't miss this chance to add the Magneto Comiquette to your Marvel collection!

Artist(s): Pablo Viggiano

As a young boy, Magneto (born Erik Magnus Lehnsherr) was interred in the Auschwitz concentration camp, a victim of the inhumanity suffered during World War II. Like the serial number tattooed on his arm, he carries with him the memories of mankind's capacity for cruelty. A mutant endowed with the power to control magnetism, he fears that history will repeat itself and humankind will subject mutants to a modern holocaust. In his quest to prevent this, his extremist viewpoints and militant methods have branded him as a zealot and an outlaw, fueling a life-long conflict with one of his dearest friends, Charles Xavier. Where Xavier and his X-men seek peaceful coexistence between humans and mutants (Homo-Superior), Magneto and his "Brotherhood of Mutants" subscribe to a doctrine of mutant self-reliance and separatism. Magneto's charisma and "the ends justify the means" philosophy have gained him countless followers, who alongside him continue to threaten mankind and any mutant standing in the way of his dream.

The Sideshow Exclusive version of the Magneto Comiquette includes a unique display option, as you may choose to display Magneto with or without his helmet. You will receive two interchangeable portraits, one with the helmet and one without. Each head is held to the body with powerful magnets (appropriate to the character, no?). Will Magneto need his helmet to prevent Charles Xavier's powerful telepathy, or will he enter the battle unprotected, already sure of his victory over the pitiful X-Men and their human allies?
