So if you ordered the
Walmart exclusive Marvel Legends Loki & Corvus Glaive 2-Pack from Hasbro off the Walmart website and have yet to receive your order, then I am afraid I have some bad news for you, the chances of you getting it are slim to none.
While I have heard others having similar stories, here I am only speaking from my own personal experience with this. I pre-ordered the item in question several weeks ago from the Walmart website and was told it should arrive on 4/2. When I first ordered it I noticed Walmart had authorized a charge on my credit card twice, but being this was only an authorization and not an actual charge, while a little annoying I didn't panic and would wait and see what happened.
Fast-forward to 4/2, and I noticed my order had not arrived as their website previously told me it would have. I hadn't even received a shipping confirmation. Causing some concern I went to check my order status online, only not to be able to find it. I then contacted a Walmart rep via the little chat feature they have on their website. The rep told me it had not shipped out yet, but should be going out that day and the reason I couldn't see it online is because apparently when I bought it, I checked out as a guest as opposed to creating an account. I accepted this explanation and went on about my day. Several more days passed and I noticed I still hadn't gotten any kind of shipping notification let alone the actual item, so once again I went to the Walmart website and hit up a customer service rep via their chat feature. After some checking this person told me their had been some kind of processing glitch on their website and that I was essentially SOL. They didn't use those exact words but that was the general message they conveyed. They offered to cancel my order for me but had no recourse of getting me the item I wanted since it was now SOLD OUT. They even offered me a $10 e-credit so I could go buy something else. At this point I went and checked my account to see if I had been charged, but there was no indication of charges or even authorizations as I had previously seen. When I informed the Walmart rep I wasn't terribly happy with their solution, they said they would send it up the chain of command and I should hear back from them in 24 hours. That was 3 days ago and I never heard anything back.
At this point I do not foresee me getting the item I wanted and had ordered in good faith, but since I haven't been charged, I don't see there is much else I can do. I am certainly not interested in a $10 credit to try and buy something else on their website and will likely do my Marvel Legend shopping elsewhere other than when Hasbro decides to give them their next exclusive.
Errors and glitches can obviously happen to the best of us, but It's unfortunate that a major retailer like Walmart can't stock exclusive items like this in sufficient numbers to be able to easily fulfill demand, but I guess the general thinking with these things is that it's better to under-order and frustrate the consumer than over-order so they don't get stuck with unsold merchandise. Either that or they just like to try and artificially inflate demand hopping it gets you in their doors more often trying to find the item you want.
