I have the TB one and won't be replacing it. I like the look of the TB figure. The Hasbro one looks cartoony. And I just don't have the money.
With that said, I'm glad so many are enjoying Hasbro's updates. I really like the accessories Hasbro includes with most figures. Multiple head sculpts, hands. That's really a brilliant way to expand the enjoyment of a figure. I would say that is a major win for Hasbro compared to TB.
Do you guys think the Hasbro figures will maintain their joint stiffness with age? My TB Nightcrawler is definitely loose in the legs, as others have mentioned.
I just posted this in the Sinister comparison thread, but it's Hasbro here for me, no question. Toy Biz always had weird headsculpts and were often over-articulated in ways that made the figures look more like a collection of joints than a character. I've yet to see a Toy Biz figure I prefer to its Hasbro equivalent. I passed on collecting the line back in the Toy Biz days because, while posing is important, having the figure look like the character was always more important to me.
I have to agree with a lot of you. Love my old toy biz Nightcrawler but this one is a bit better. Keep it up Hasbro.
This says alot about how far Hasbro has come since they first got the license. Toybiz's Nightcrawler was always one of my all time favorite figs that they made. This new version by hasbro far surpasses how much i love the figure. I never liked the giant highly articulated duck feet/snow shoes feet whichever. Both are great figs but i think i like hasbros far better overall. The extra heads and accessories i think put it over the top in quality. Just fantastic.
I would say thaHasbro is mostly superior to Toybiz,As mentioned its really short figure, which I guess it due to pizza spidey moldhaving really short legs and super long torso, so with all new torso it turned out short,at least short compared to other marvel legends, even Mary Jane figure had longer legs than pizza spidey. But Kurt was never a tall guy, I think hes around 59 so it does work after all but it would be superior in all ways if only figurehad toe articulation.
I have the old one and love it but this new one looks to have a better headsculpt and has gripping hands for that alone, I'll give it to Hasbro.
I definitely prefer the new one.
I'm staring at my Toybiz NightCrawler that's on my shelf right now. The ball hip hinges are distracting and when I was posing him yesterday it was hard to stand him up as the leg joints are hard to position. My Hasbro one has arrived at my sister's so I haven't gotten him yet so improvement on those two things is something I'm looking forward to when I finally have him in-hand. The Toybiz head didn't/doesn't bother me but the Hasbro ones look good too.
My opinion: Best body Toybiz. Best heads: Hasbro - Hasbro heads pros: expressions, Hasbro heads cons: looking too young.
