Hasbro's Brian Goldner Gives Positive Outlook For Company's Future Today On CNBC

by Jay Cochran
March 23, 2020
Hasbro's CEO Brian Goldner was on CNBC this morning and overall gave a pretty positive outlook for the future of the company despite growing concerns over Covid-19.

He indicated production would be back at full capacity in China by the end of week and that sales for the company remained strong, in large part because demand was up for their gaming products as people hunker down at home. While production due to factory closures overseas had fallen behind a bit, he indicated that he felt they would soon be able to offset that and be back on track as things ramp back up.

He also said their were no plans for any kind of layoffs in the foreseeable future.

no layoffs is good..i hope people/companieslearn from such event...sorry to be blunt, but there should be alternative sources of production of any item, not only toys...everything is made in China because of their huge workforce and cheap labor...hope companies will be more wise in strategic positioning. Recently a lot of people lost their job (customer facing), too bad there is no manufacturing jobs to turn to as all is in China.

@Hellshock138 I disagree. If they slow down production that just means we are going to get into a situation where this fall they release a new wave every week for a month along with their exclusives, Rides ect...... they did something like that last year and it sucked. Consistency is the key not long periods of time without new figures. Plus, I just love getting new figures heh.

True enough, but on the same token, no executive is EVER gonna send out a press release admitting the company has gone FUBAR.

"Well, there's mass rioting at the factory, the board of directors just bought matching seppuku daggers and I'm headin' up to the office to find my gun. Nope, things aren't goin' so well."

With all the bad news with Mr. Virus; it's good to have something good to report

With the media going out of their way to push a negative outlook (doom and gloom make better ratings), and the politicians more interested in election year posturing and partisan power-plays than actually helping, it's nice to get some good news for once.

I am happy for the good news. I wish Hasbro along with Marvel and DC would slow down production of stuff during this time...give us enough to keep us entertained (comic wise), but lighten up a bit on our wallets. A time like this can make readers and collectors come to the realization of what is actually important in life. They could loose customers if they continue to try to bleed people with 2 waves of figures in one month or a weekly shipment of 30+different books.

Marvel Legends lives on! So now there's no excuse not to give me my translucent Invisible Woman, Equinox, Wonder Man and the Vision figures!

Im just trying to be helpful; I believe the headline should say Companys Future.

Im glad to see that Hasbro wont be too badly affected by current events!

Edit: the comment section doesnt seem to display the apostrophe so it would be Company apostrophe S
