Classic X-Men Marvel Legends Cyclops Custom Figure By Summers71

Classic X-Men Marvel Legends Cyclops Custom Figure By Summers71

Jay Cochran - June 07, 2020
This weeks Marvelous Custom was done by Summers71 who created a 6" Marvel Legends style Classic X-Men Cyclops figure. Here is how they describe the making of this figure:

Here's a quick repaint/custom I've wanted to do for a long time, but was a bit apprehensive due to my lack of painting skills. I used a NightHawk body and the retro X-Force Cyclops head. Tried the nail polish remover trick remove the orange/yellow paint on his chest, but wasn't happy with the results so I ended up painting the torso and his trunks. I also "borrowed" the belt from the "Love Triangle" 3 pack Wolverine. I'm pretty happy with how it actually turned out and it fills a hole in my collection.

Check out the image(s) of their custom below and be sure to let us know what you think in the COMMENTS SECTION below!

Nice. I used a Nighthawk body and a custom head from ebay for mine. I just painted over it with the matching color. Can't remember where I got gloves from.

Good work on yours.

Thanks Robpozeart! Now that you mention it, Wolverine does look very 90s animated series... I was going for the Arthur Adams Wolverine from the Classic X-Men comics!

Very cool, also thanks for sharing on the paint. Also using nicely done w. the first appearance wolverine kitbash. Looks just like the 90s animated wolverine !

Thanks Bluecomet! I ended up using some Craft Smart acrylic paint... had my doubts about the paint at first... so I ended up adding a few drops of water to about a cap full of paint, after about5-6 coats for the blue, it seemed to do the trick. Did the same thing for the yellow, only difference was adding a bit or orange to match the gloves and boots... that took a couple extra thin coats.

Ive since shortened the Marvel Select Colossus using Discogods ankle rocker mod. Took maybe 1/2 to 3/4 off from the bottom of his legs. Fits in better now!

Awesome work Summers71..a good use of the x-factor retro head of cyclops, really like the blast effect of that one...What kind of paint did you use for the torso? looks neat

Thanks! Unfortunately I missed out on the official release and I couldn't justify the secondary market price.

Awesome! Looks just like the official release!
