Toybiz Mojo looks like he could use a bath.

It's so weird sometimes to see Toybiz renditions and Hasbro's side by side, so much to appreciated with Toybiz, it looks more like an art piece then Hasbro, which has a very stock feel, there is much good in the Toybiz still, the shading/wash, the detailed sculpting, but then again Hasbro has better proportions, size accuracy and a good modern fit, both are good in their own way. I still find it so hard to believe that Toybiz was making a new 1 off tool for basically every single figure they put out, the money pit they must have generated was crazy, no wonder they went the way of the dinosaurs almost seems infeasible at this point to be able to make figures that everyone gets it;s own tooling, even in that time period when things were cheaper it would have still cost a huge $ amount, gotta really give Toybiz a high five for what they did, and the doors they opened for adult toy collectors.

As always, the Toy Biz ones look deeply weird. So stoked to finally have Mojo and Longshot in my collection, as well as a proper Outback Dazzler!

That Longshot looks pretty good. Not buying it but its better than the Toybiz version.

I'm happy with my Toy Biz one, so a lot of money saved.

The ToyBiz figure looks GLORIOUS.Unfortunately, the rising cost of plastic means that this wave had some serious cut backs. There was meant to be a series of unarticulated X-Babies and Mighty 'Vengers included as pack-ins. They got cut, and Mojo was downscaled in size. It's a shame, because if the Toybiz figure had been made at the right scale, I'd still be using it now.

This update is good. It seems like this paint job is based off the ToyBiz BAF (Brighter yellow and liver spots), while the single release is based off the old ToyBiz 5" line (paler yellow, and less detail).I'll be getting the MojoWorld version, but i feel like the metal base and tail could use a little extra detail. Maybe a wash or some dry brushing.

Hey @JayCyou can actually push the upper chestictles down a bit farther and lock it in. Some people are heating it up with a hair dryer to make it easier. I just used my preferred, and least destructive, method of letting it sit on my car dash for a few hours. After softening it up just push it from the head down with your palm.

I really miss your reviews but I understand it's almost a flooded market, but I'm surprised you didn't mention the use of a superior mold for Dazzler. Not only is the Mojo figure better than the single release, but the updated Daz was a pleasant surprise. After 3 tries they finally got it right. I feel like we got bamboozled into thinking this is the only way we'd get Longshot, though they never actually said that. That Wolverine was not only ridiculous but it was all but worthless. When you can make the Spider-Ham figure look good you're a useless piece of landfill. Was it worth the price? I guess that lies in the eye of the beholder. For me, that upgraded Dazzler made it a much easier pill to swallow.

This reminds me. I have to look at all the Toybiz figures and see who else needs to be redone.

memocromatico - 2022-11-10 @ 10:02 pm

This guy looks so gross. It's beautiful.

Atlantis - 2022-11-10 @ 9:19 pm

Good comparison. I found the set to be overpriced but I do like that they chose to do this character, as he is one a lot of fans wanted. Verdict: hasblo leaves toybiz in the dust, on the way side, like festering garbage that's been out all day in a fetid Florida swamp. JayC's exact words, you heard him yourself.
