Marvel Legends Fan-Stream January 2025 - What Might We See

by Jay Cochran
January 16, 2025
Hasbro's Dan Yun has given us some clues for what we can expect to see during Hasbro's Marvel Legends Fanstream which kicks off tomorrow (1/17) at 11am ET.

Setting of expectations: yo tomorrow we’ll have one movie item & the rest are comic based. We’ll be revealing some new initiatives. Hoping we fill some slots that fans have been waiting for. I’m sure not everything will be for everyone. But thank you always for your collecting. See you tomorrow✌️

So lets try and narrow it down just a little bit more on what to expect. First the MCU figure he mentions will likely be the Spider-Man: No Way Home Electro figure. As we reported earlier this month, Electro looks like will be going up for pre-order on January 30th at places like our sponsors Entertainment Earth and BigBadToyStore.com. The new Electro looks like will include at the very least alternate hands and large lightning effects similar to those included with the new Electro (Francine Frye) figure.

Next Dan talks about everything else being comic based and goes on to say they will be revealing new initiatives and hoping to fill some slots fans have been waiting for. I can only guess on this but by best guess is that Hasbro will be revealing their new Marvel Legends Mini-Comic wave of figures. As we reported last November, this new sub-line or (initiative) will include a mini-comic. The wave is rumored to include the following:

- Rom The Space Knight with ROM Mini-Comic #1
- Banshee (Green and Yellow Classic Costume) with Giant Sized X-Men #1 Mini-Comic
- Adam Warlock with Infinity Gauntlet #1 Mini-Comic
- Miles Morales Spider-Man with Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spider-Man #1 Mini-Comic
- Dark Avengers Wolverine with Dark Avengers #1 Mini-Comic
- Ultimate Iron Man with unkown Ultimate Iron Man Mini-Comic

I feel like at least Rom and an updated Banshee in his classic costum will be some slots many fans have been wanting to fill.

Now Dan does use the word initiative(s) as in more than one. So its also possible they could officially announce their rumored Ultimate Fan Channel Exclusive line. Again as we reported back in November, these would be figures with lots of accessories. The first two figures slated for this line looks to be new Spider-Man (Red And Blue Classic Outfit) and Hulk (Green) figures. Spider-Man will have an unmasked, regular masked head and spider-sense masked tingling head. he also comes with multiple hands, webbing effects, backpack, a set of lower arm/hands that have no costume but have webblasters on the hands, and some kind of stand. Hulk will have three heads, multiple hands, some kind of firing missile, wind clapping effect and punch effect. Hulk will stand 8.5" tall.

Hasbro in their last live-stream as we reported before seemingly teased accessories for the Mini-Comic wave Adam Warlock with his staff and the Ultimate Wave Spider-Man with the webbing effect.

So there you go, No Way Home Electro I would say I am 99.9% sure we will see revealed. The Mini-Comic and Ultimate stuff are more guesses on my part, but based on what we have seen and are hearing for tomorrow, they make the most sense to me. No matter what is revealed, we of course will have full coverage of it here for you all as it happens.

I didn't get the 3 pack, are the heads opposite? The screaming head has sideburns and the neutral head is without? Because if so, that would almost be MORE inferiorating if this you. Not you personally, just someone who is annoyed by this.

This isn't me, the screaming head is likely going into storage.

No they're both the same, that is long sideburns is neutral and the other is the screaming head. I hear your frustration, though....they should have just had 2 long sideburn heads, one screaming and one not for one of the figures, and 2 regular sideburn heads, one screaming and one not for the other. Or maybe a screaming head and a sound wave effect piece.

Well I was going to get Banshee but looking at the pictures his heads don't match up..the normal head has sideburns and the screaming head doesn't, it's like he's from two different eras of time..so when he screams his sideburns disappear..

They did the same thing when the 3 pack came out about 2 years or so ago; I expected the same this go round. It wasn't an issue for me, but Its frustrating that they gave him two heads and Siryn only got one....and she isn't even using her sonic power there. I swear, the decision process over at hasblo is just bizarre!

Also, they paint the boot tops on, like they did for the Vision. Took the lazy route, again. I DO like that soft goods use for the wing panels though. I know some aren't happy with them, but I honestly don't know how else the team could have made them for the figure, and they look very comic accurate.

I got 5 of the 6, skipped Miles. I was surprised / not surprised that ROM sold out on Pulse. I went there first and they weren't up yet so I grabbed them on Amazon. Went back and Pulse had them up and ROM was already gone.

I'm sure this was brought up previously but I'M just noticing that Banshee and Ultimate Iron Man share a wave again... that's kinda cool. Ultimate IM is undersized again..some things never change...

Just to pile on: down with mini comics. They suck. What's next? Spring loaded rockets or squeeze action super powers? For the price of this hobby, whether these particular ones add to it or not, keep the gimmicks and give me something that adds to the collection. An extra hand or effect pieces. This was a swing and a miss Hasbro.

On the plus side: these rando waves have been huge hits. The last one with Ikaris and KaZar was just as fun. Would love to see Hasbro continue to do this type of wave moving forward.

I have been saying the same - the mixed waves are my favorite!

Now that they have Angel's wings right, I can't see why the original team hasn't been done. That last 5 pack go round? That was an insult. They'd have to do a new sculpt for Ice Man but otherwise this wouldn't be a hard set to do. Though I would hope they'd make their belts red this time around; I think that bit of color made the team pop. Also I liked the picture Cockrum did of Prof X wearing an ascot....that would be a nice addition....make it a full 6 pack...

Great add! I almost suggested it myself, but with several recent Xavier figs, I couldn't see them doing that, but YEAH, damn good idea!

Instant pre-order for half the wave, I might MIGHT go back and pre-order warlock but I am a hater on the Vulcan body or really any use of outdated articulation, but his headscuplt and accessories just look great. And weirdly enough I kinda like the mini comics but only for ROM and warlock the rest I would have preferred even an extra hand over it. And ofcourse a baf piece would have been preferred but we have been heading in this direction fir years them making bafs near obsolete and replacing them with "deluxe", which I am not entirely mad with as I never purchase a whole wave and at times pass on the entire wave. But man there so many bigger characters to be desired thay would not sell well as an individual deluxe that would fit right into these types of waves and because of that they may never do those characters which blows.

I never said they would be the same as a BAF piece. I just said with the printing the cost of producing the mini comic may be a little more than we might expect (not saying specifically more than a BAF piece). I would just rather that cost go to a BAF piece, extra accessory (even if it's a small one), or extra paint apps on the figure. But that's just my personal opinion/taste.

Who knows? A few years down the line, when we all see collectors' displays and toy photography utilizing the mini comics, we may all end up loving them.
