We have a couple of new trailers that have hit the internet for the upcoming ThunderBolts movie which hits theaters on May 2.
Both trailers focus on the seeming main threat of the movie which so far has only been seen as a shadowed out figure in all the video clips. The only actual look at the character known as Bob/Sentry comes from last weeks
Hasbro Marvel Legends reveals.
In this new trailer that debuted we hear for what I believe is the first time the Sentry name is mentioned. We also see his belt buckle.
We also got this trailer today which is similar but different that refers to the shadowy figure as "The Void".
Now in the comics Bob Reynolds, Sentry and The Void are essentially all the same person. The Void is the dark and destructive entity that bonded to Reynolds when he became the Sentry, and acts as a counterforce and embodiment of his negative aspects.
How this plays out in the movie is unknown but we do know that the character will survive and have some kind of role in the upcoming
Avengers: Doomsday movie as the actors (Lewis Pullman) name was one mentioned in the recent
Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement.
Whether in this movie and/or Doomsday Bob will be a good guy, bad guy or both remains to be seen.
It's nothing special per say but it's definitely enjoyable to watch, it has pretty simplistic plot points it and doesn't attempt to do anything crazy or deep but it's really not necessary especially after so many boring and re-shot and edited to death MCU movies, Marvel needed to have one good simple movie that isn't carried thanks to big name hero (Like Spidey, Deadpool or Wolverine) and they got it, so it does seem like some sort of "Return to form", mainly thanks to really solid cinematography and camera work that does feel fresh, I suppose getting A24 film crew really paid off.
This combined with the upcoming Fantastic Four, could we be looking at a MCUrenaissance? Let's cross our fingers. Stil haven't seen Thunderbolts, but it's only a matter of time.
Ive really only heard positive reviews so far, and glad to hear you feel that way as well Jay! Ive wanted to see this movie regardless, but it is nice to know it will actually be worth seeing!

Thanks for the info @JayC. It was helpful. Not that I wasn't going to see the movie anyway but now I'm going into it with much more confidence. I'm glad Walker is getting his due. He is also one of my favorite characters too. And I do feel like he got short changed in TFAWS and a lot of the story about his journey to becoming US Agent got left on the cutting room floor for other aspects of the story and they just kind of rushed it and packed it all in at the end of the show.
