Last week Marvel Studios released some of the names/characters that will be appearing in the upcoming
Avengers: Doomsday movie that opens in theaters on May 1, 2026. Several original 20th Century Fox X-Men actors where announced including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming and Kelsey Grammer. One of the names missing however was Halle Berry's Storm.
More cast announcements for the Doomsday movie will be coming at a later date. I think we all expect eventually to see the likes of Hugh Jackman/Wolverine announced and one might even expect that Halle's name could be fourth coming as well. Well not so according to the actress who was asked about it recently via
Variety:
“Fans want to see your name on the chair for the next next announcement of ‘Avengers: Doomsday,'”
Berry responded by saying:
“Keep waiting, It’s not going to be there. It’s not going to be there.”
Now before we totally write off Berry as having some kind of role in the upcoming Avengers movie, it should be noted that actors often lie about these kind of things until it is officially announced by the studio and Berry herself has previously expressed interest in reprising her role as Storm as recently as last year when asked about whether she would be appearing in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie.
So I guess time will tell.

I actually really like Tatum as Gambit, especially the costume. I felt like it worked.

I was celebrating my birthday yesterday, and I checked my phone to find the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, and the reveal of James Marsden returning as Cyclops, and he will be in the same movie with Mr. Fantastic. My first and second favorite marvel characters together in one movie? Even if they do not share a scene. I never thought I would live to see the day we would be getting the Fox X-Men cast in the MCU. I thought I was dreaming! Marvel Studios has given me an amazing birthday present. Also, I LOVE Channing Tatum as Gambit. Maybe he is a little too large for Remy. But, he otherwise nails the character, down to the cajun accent!

Deadpool and Wolverine showed use how much fun it was to see some of the old school X-Men, so it will be great to see more of them, since I would guess they will use these films to reset the MCU (and Patrick Stewart deserves a proper send-off since Multiverse of Madness was garbage). Can't wait to see the Fantastic Four and X-Men in the MCU!
I liked Multiverse of Madness for what it was. Was it perfect? No, but I thought it was better than some of the other MCU stuff that has been released the last few years. To each their own though.

He was completely screwed over by Fox in the first three movies. Playing second fiddle to Wolverine in the first one was as good as it got forCyclops. In the second movie he lost a fight early in the second act and was off screen for most of the remainder. In the third he was killed off early.
My guess is Disney takes a page from X-Men 97 and makes him a bad ass and capable leader.
