New Details Surrounding Captain America: Cold War Emerge At NYCC

Marvel kicked off New York Comic Con with a special spotlight on CAPTAIN AMERICA: COLD WAR, the upcoming crossover between CAPTAIN AMERICA: SENTINEL OF LIBERTY and CAPTAIN AMERICA: SYMBOL OF TRUTH! At Captain America: Cold War – A This Week in Marvel Special Event, co-hosts Ryan Penagos and Lorraine Cink of the This Week in Marvel podcast were joined by current Captain America scribes Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and Tochi Onyebuchi and star-spangled Marvel Comics Editor Alanna Smith to shed light on this exciting epic launching next year.

In never-before-seen interior artwork from future issues, attendees witnessed dramatic character transformations on the horizon for two major figures in the Captain America mythos, both of whom are set to play significant roles in CAPTAIN AMERICA: COLD WAR. Over in CAPTAIN AMERICA: SYMBOL OF TRUTH, Ian Rogers has mysteriously returned as Nomad but will he be a friend or foe in Sam Wilson’s escalating conflict with Wakanda? And the shocking ending of yesterday’s CAPTAIN AMERICA: SENTINEL OF LIBERTY #5 revealed just how far Bucky Barnes was willing to go to stop the new villain group known as the Outer Circle and how he’ll allow no one—including Steve Rogers—to get in his way! I enjoyed Sam as Cap for his initial run but Marvel really needs to let Sam build ( should say continue to build) his legacy as the Falcon. As great as he had been, he isnt who people think of when they think Captain America. Never been a fan of characters assuming the title of established heroes. For short term storytelling it can work, like Sams or even U.S.Agents temporary ascension, but no matter what Disney is doing with the MCU, Steve Rogers is Captain America. And he will be back in the title before too long.

Really see no reason why he couldnt be doing the exact same thing he is doing now but as the Falcon. Then wed have a strong character building his original brand instead of jumping on someone elses
