Artist Simone Di Meo Returns To Marvel Comics With New Amazing Spider-Man #1 Cover

Writer Joe Kelly and artists Pepe Larraz and John Romita Jr. begin a new era of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN this April. To celebrate the years most anticipated launch, the debut issue will be have variant covers by todays top talent, including Eisner-nominated artist Simone Di Meo. Depicting Spidey gracefully swinging across the skyline, the cover is a stunning example of Di Meos vibrant and kinetic style. His first Marvel work in nearly five years, the cover marks Di Meos exciting return to the House of Ideas following previous work on series like Champions and Immortal Hulk."This is my first AMAZING SPIDER-MAN cover! I mean, sure he wrote him during Brand New Day but it also happens to be the only decent arc out of the BND era so...

Gonzales was Guggenheim's creation, though. Kelly has only written like, 2 issues with her in it.

My main takeaway from this article is that I really want the Legends team to make a Queen Goblin figure.

I actually expected they would give Spider-Man back to JMS, his run is still among the most popular Spidey runs ever, maybe they will do it later or maybe JMS doesn't wanna touch it ever again considering how badly it ended last time.

I'd feel better about this if this wasn't the same Joe Kelly that gave us issues #19 and #20 during that awful Zeb Wells run. Granted, Kelly's written good stuff before, but those issues were what made me drop the title, so I doubt I'll be jumping back on with him in his current writing phase.
