I was thinking the same thing about the Venom. I would have bought the one on the back of the card. Funny about the "Stock Baby Cry" though :) . Another thing...What happened to the Sandman that was supposed to be in this line? He was pictured as a prototype posted with the rest on Marvelous News, but he was not included. That was another I was thinking about getting. I guess hasbro dosen't want any of my money this time around....

Thanks for the pics Ryno.

Venom got some serious plastic surgery for his head????

The "prototype" and the product have totally different heads (especially the teeth and the shape of the eye) and different spider-symbols... "Aimed for kids" isn't an excuse for this; it would be an insult for the kids. Kids aren't stupid; they are just innocent.

It's funny, even when I was a little kid, it used to drive me totally nuts when the figure was different on the package than the one in my hand. I would either feel that I missed out on a different version of the figure or I was just annoyed that it was different and couldn't understand why. I would point it out to my friends and show them how dumb it was. But, Hasbro must've been sculpting from really early concept designs when they prototyped these things. The Spider-Man and Doc Ock heads are very different than the package as well.

Exactly, but I think they are going in the wrong direction seriously. @_@

Same as Alexx, I do hear a baby cry inside my head when I first saw that Venom.... haha @loll@

Aw, damn! I totally woulda bought that Venom if he had the head on the back of the package. With the current head, I'm not as interested. I can imagine a badly recorded stock baby noise coming out of that face.

As for the rest, I have no need for more Spider-Men. I stopped at the one dubbed "mcfarlane" spidey (whether or not he actually is based on the art). However, I do have a weakness for the classic black costume, so I'll probably pick that guy up. By now I've got a tiny collection of 'em!

yeah but still. then they could at least give him leg articulations to put him up. octopus is higher then venom. look at the pics, spidey is higher then venom when he is on his knees.

look at tiny venom. the itsy bitsy venom. wow i wonder when will he be smaller then spidey in the comics? the trend goes this way. first the movie, then the figures and later the comics. look out the deadly mini monster venom is coming @loll@

umm, hes kinda crouching...

Prototype on back of package: (I would have bought this even if it lacks articulation)
