This new line has a lot of promise. Hasbro can work a 3 3/4 line like no other, and I'm intensely psyched to see this line work itself out.
As for Marvel Legends versus these, I see so many opinions and I'll just drop mine here. Hope nobody minds. ML had its moment in the sun, but really...when I saw Hasbro's Banshee, then Emma Frost, I knew the line was on the way down. The two-packs are good, and it's a good way to continue the line. But, really, the best MLs Hasbro brought out were using older Toybiz molds like crazy (Crossbones), or were great to me and nobody else I knew liked them (Heroes Reborn Iron Man was/is amazing to me). These new ones, this smaller line, I'm very excited for because they SHOULD logically be cheaper, easier to attain, open up more possibilities(if the ability to customize is as great as it is with GI Joe for those ignorant of the complex stuff and just, you know, swap some heads every now and then), and sooo much easier for transit...which if you're like me and have to pack your things every month or so, you'll find its really important to lug around a shoebox of ten GI Joes rather than a big ol' tupperware box of MLs.
Though, honestly, DCUC may have its quality issues, but I am absolutely in love with those, too...so who knows? I got my ML fix from Toybiz, it took its toll to see several terrible turds brought out with one or two gems per line with Hasbro, but now I can look forward to only getting a two pack every now and then, while the real fun is coming with these Fury File things.
Im just curious what exactly do you find lame about them, other than they are a different scale, and granted Punisher looks like he doesn't have a neck, but the others look pretty damn good. Im just curious since you make a point to post in every 3 3/4" thread they suck, what exactly do you base that opnion on?It's the same basic whining as when Hasbro launched Superhero Squad.
And resurfaces everytime they do a figure that isn't out in Marvel Legends.
you have a point. but i see alot of people saying that they like them, why cant people post that they dont like them?
Hey I actually like the super hero squad, but not the 3 inchers. I agree with pooda. People should be able to say if they like em or not.

Good one pooda. Well I base my opinion on being that it is my opinion. Plain as that. I dont like em and if you guys do thats great. Just there not for me and I keep on posting that I dont like em in every thread because we seem to be getting a lot of these little guy threads to me. I admit to that some look good (iron fist) and thats it to me.

hey tarot....you got something brown on your nose.
this is line sweeeettt!!
I just don't get it. I always see Joes and Star Wars figs at the stores - the pegs are over stocked with them. The Indy line did crappy - so much so Walmart was selling them for $2 each a few months ago.Meanwhile, MLs fly off the shelf. The stores around here just have a few now. Iron Man tho does clog the pegs and Spidey is somewhere in the middle.
Good points. I suspect that it all has to do with the marketing, how many cases a store puts out, how much shelfspace a store wants to give a particular line, etc. The stores order boatloads of Star Wars figures; they're always on the peg because there's always more being re-stocked. We may see all the leftover Padmes, but it usually means they've already sold through tons of the better figures.
The better MLs may sell like hotcakes (anyone seen Crossbones yet??), but they've got their pegwarmers, too: most of the Annihilus wave, X3 figures, Danger, etc. And 2 or 3 pegwarmers out of a series of 7 or 8 isn't a great ratio. I'm just saying, what we see doesn't necessarily indicate the sales figures.
As for Indy, I'm convinced that the line crashed and burned because of Hasbro's stupid character selection. Why even have movie-dedicated series at all? Why not mix-and-match, so you get all the cool, big-name characters on the pegs first? If you're trying to build a collector fan base, wouldn't that have made more sense than trying to fill out a Raiders wave with the likes of Monkey Man?
Okay, I digress, but I'm bitter. The IJ figures had potential. Now back to your regularly scheduled Marvel talk...
Thanks to Target's f-up (charging 15 bucks for Rulk wave at first), their pegs are clogged with Brood series and Emma's (cause people bought Rulk and then returned earlier figs they probably got on sale elsewhere).

I understand not wanting the 6" line to end, but I don't see what that has to do with this line. The sucess or failure of one line isn't going to have an impact on the cancelation or continuation of the other.I'm actually not too sure of that. If 3 3/4" crashes, but 6" sales are strong, then they might decide that Marvel collectors just really like ML scale and will focus on that. Conversely, if 3 3/4" soars, they may concentrate resources on that line, and let 6" either die out or limit it to exclusive, two-packs and the like. Hasbro's refusal to even dabble in a 6" Star Wars lines makes me think that their core competency is 3 3/4", and they'd prefer to stick with that if they can.
Personally, I'm really looking forward to 3 3/4", so no complaints from me. If MLs stopped (which no one is saying they will), I'd be sad but not heartbroken. I know Hasbro is trying, but the decrease in quality since ToyBiz leads to similarly decreased pleasure in collecting them.
