2012 Marvel Universe Figures No Longer Come With Secret Files

Jay Cochran - November 23, 2010
Thanks to Marvelous News readers er23wwhulk and perry119 who managed to snap up the first wave of Marvel Universe figures for 2011 from an online etailer, we have some new details about them.

First the figures no longer come with Secret Files. It would see Hasbro has dropped these pack-ins for 2011, possibly to help keep costs down.

Second Norman Osborne's image on the back of the cardbacks along with his "Hammer Files" logo have been replaced with that of Commander Rogers and the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo. For those of you who read the Marvel comics, know Rogers, the original Captain America is now the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. and goes by the name Commander Rogers. We can only hope this means a Commander Rogers figure is in the works for 2011 as well.

Thanks to er23wwhulk and perry119 for the heads up.

i will miss the cards. i dont want to have to save a huge piece of cardboard to keep the artwork. maybe i'll just start scanning it and keeping it digital.

Same here. I liked the card for the artwork, so I didn't feel bad about throwing the package away. Maybe we can just find the artwork online somewhere and save it in a folder? (I hate my scanner)

I have slowly been adding and updating my MU site (since the ML section was near complete). You can find some of my scans there. I still have a few from the newer waves I haven't scanned yet. If anyone else has some scans from the earlier waves if I'm missing them LMK so I can add them.

Nice site! It's a good reference. I wanted to let you know that you have most of the Series 1 wave 5 figures misnumbered though. I assume it's because of Electro...

d'oh! thanks, I'll fix when I update next time

The price doens't bother me so much as the painted on belts and minimal accessories.

Maybe with out the file cards they can lower the price back down closer to the GI Joe's, and Star Wars price.

Yeah, I'm gonna miss the file cards because they had the artwork on them. Oh well.

Still, these figures look awesome.
