They aren't GIJoe's but they might be the next best thing for you 6" collectors.
Cryptid Toys has launched a new
Kickstarter campaign for a new 6" military themed line called
Army Alphas. These also look good for those wanting to build out their Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. armies. Here are the official details:
The time has finally come for
1:12 (6 inch) SWAT, Soldier, and
Army Builder figures!
Cryptid Toys has launched the
Army Alphas campaign that is on
Kickstarter now! Each super articulated action figure has all the standard points of articulation that collectors have come to expect in addition being very modular. Helmet tops, heads, necks, arms, hands, torsos at the waist, and vests/harnesses are all swappable. These figures are in scale with Marvel Legends, DC Multiverse, Medicom Mafex, and many other collector lines. Grab some Army Alphas to boost your existing collection of army builders or even start a new one!
There are four basic figures and one deluxe figure being offered in the initial group. The basics are the Blue SWAT, Night Ops SWAT, Serpent Trooper, and Space Trooper. The deluxe is the UCP Soldier. There are several stretch goals for different figures that will become unlocked should the funding goal reach those levels. The first stretch goal is the deluxe Stealth Ninja, and the second is the basic Cobalt Trooper.
The campaign is over halfway to the goal and will run until
Friday, March 15. Basic figures are $25 each, deluxe figures are $33 each, and shipping to each region is a flat rate no matter how many figures you pre-order.

Awesome, I look forward to seeing the final product released.
Thanks for the support guys. The campaign is now over 100% funded so we can start unlocking some stretch goals! The accessory pack gets unlocked at $65,000

Wow, those swat and army soldiers could be used for soooooo many different things!!!!! The shield and Hydra agents look good as well and the colors blend in well with the marvel legends version.
Put in a pledge to get 4 of those Hydra looking Grunts. Let's hope this gets the funding it needs to give us these cool looking army builders.
The "not Hydra" and "not SHIELD" grunts would be cool to get and the "definitely not Snake Eyes".
I may have to kick in for the UCP Soldiers. I'm going to need some Hulkbusters for that new 80 Years Hulk to smack around.

these aren't bad. Though another cost effective alternative to a generic tactical army build would be those Figma Gurlokovich soldiers on ebay. They used to be $12 (free shipping) and was really happy to have multiples especially for photography. They may not be over 6 inches but at least they're not too bulky and don't take up so much space over your main subject.

On 2/23/2019 at 11:27 AM, Atlantis said:JC, as a former backer of Cryptid's Super Articulated Blanksfigures, all I can say is I had to back out of the project because I lost total faith that they would ever produce. Theyhad delay after delay after delay AFTER DELAY.....this happens with other Kickstarters (but not this bad) so I'm used to it. But the critical point is this: these guys ignored the backers' pleas for information. Months of silence. I enthusiastically supported them, but after months of radio silence became concerned there was some scam afoot. I wasn't the only one. I was able to get my pledge refunded and here it is, a year later, if you go the page people are STILL complaining because nothing's been produced and worse, the creators keep everyone in silence. Only after months of complaints, do they finally respond, and even then its weak, it looks shady, and no one wants to be ripped off. So I got out, thankfully. Their production goals keep getting pushed back and they've had unrealistic production timelines.Yes, the figures look cool, but Why on earth they think anyone would commit to this Army campaign when they have such poor performance (I should say LACK of performance) on the still ongoing campaign??
Atlantis - It's been 1 year and 3 months since the end of the last campaign, and after several factory set backs and other things that had to be straightened out, they are in the final tweaks of the tooling stage. While that campaign's offerings were delayed, that's not unheard of for a Kickstarter campaign when dealing with small quantities of figures at these factories as there are currently FOURaction figure Kickstartercampaigns from other companies that ended well over 2 years ago and have also yet to deliver figures. Our development practices have been changed so that there is less work for the factory to do on their end which will expedite future productions of figures, and they alsohave a better understanding of the intricaciesof super articulated figures now. There are deadlines and other factors that sometimes require subsequent campaigns to be launched while others are still in production, so hopefully you can understand that. Communication while there wasn't much forward progress at the factory level in the early stages was poor, but the updates have been more frequent and on a more regular schedule since. Your pledge was fully refunded at your request, and though you do not want to participate in this current one, that is up to the individual backers to decide.
