UPDATE: It looks like today's live-stream is viewable for folks outside the US and Canada, so you should be able to watch the portions you are interested in wherever you are. Today's panels have started with the gaming portion.
For those wondering, you can still get the HasbroMarvel Legends Hellfire Club And Logan 2-Pack exclusive sets at Hasbro's website. While Hasbro hasn't issued any statement on this yet, it looks like yesterday once their initial stock of product sold out they switched over to taking pre-orders for items.
The bad news is that the pre-orders won't ship to folks until March, but the good news is you can get the exclusives you want stress free and without having to pay any kind of extra money.
If you were able to purchase initial stock items before they sold out, then your stuff should ship in October. Some items like the Logan 2-pack still have October ship dates listed, which we assume means they haven't yet sold through their initial stock on that one.
We believe these pre-orders will remain open through the weekend, though that is not entirely clear. As I type this all of Hasbro's exclusives are available for purchase/pre-order, except for their Star Wars Vintage Collection Clone Trooper 3-pack, which currently says SOLD OUT. If you are interested in that one then you may want to periodically keep checking it to see if it becomes available again.
Remember the Hasbro Marvel Legends Pulse-Con panel starts at 3:25pm ET on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube channel. We aren't 100% sure, but think it is VERY POSSIBLE Hasbro will make it so people only in the US and Canada can watch Pulse-Con live today. If so, after the live-streams are converted to regular videos, then I think everyone will be able to watch it. We also will be providing coverage of any reveals as they happen today here on MarvelousNews.
It's available on Pulse through Sunday for anyone who wants to order it, but only as a preorder for March/April at this point. After that, you'll be stuck with the second-hand market for the foreseeable futute.
Man I hope this Hellfire pk becomes available to us regularly collectors that don't feel like having to join a club just to get some figures. And im not talking becoming available on Ebay from bloodsucking dealers/scalpers either! (This onesfor youscalpers!)
Looks like they've opened it for everyone to watch live, not just US and Canada.
Wow someone at Hasbro actually cares for international fans. First not locking the TF Hall of Fame voting to either a social media site or Pulse and now this. Maybe they might do Pulse for other markets next.
If they do restrict it, the only reason I can think of why they would do that is cause of the Toys For Tots thing. They say the are going to donate a certain amount to that organization based on how many viewers they have during the live broadcast, and so I am thinking they don't want to count people outside the US and Canada for that. Again that is only my speculation, but I just can't think of any other reason why they would restrict viewership like that. I am not aware of any laws or regulations that would prevent them from showing this outside the US, not to mention they seem fine with everyone being able to watch it later after its recorded.
Well nothing will ever be as bad as the TFCC when it came to news blocking.
I think overall Hasbro handled the exclusive sales quite well. While it would've been nice to save at least a little bit of the stock on hand for non-premium customers, ultimately its a lot better to let everyone who wants one have the ability to preorder rather than running out in 5-10 minutes and then nobody else can get it except on the aftermarket.
Personally, i'm still mulling over whether to preorder a set or not as i just don't like putting down money for something that i might not get until 6 months later, but that's mainly because there are a lot of other figurescoming out NOW that i could use that money towards instead. Hopefully today's reveals will give me a sense of whether there are a lot of figures coming next year that i would want to budget for, or if they are figures i will skip like the Venompool wave and Strong Guy wave. In the meantime took the money i had specifically set aside for Hellfire and bought the Family Matters 3-pack i've been eyeballing forever as well as retro Kingpin, so i'll still have some great 'new to me' figures to play around.
At this point my main focus is on characters from comics 1960s-1980s, with random additions from 90s/modern with maybe a few novelty figures like Piratepool in the mix. But i always enjoy seeing reveals and even when its a figure i don't want its fun to see how psyched up various fans get about finally getting one of their favorites made.
IMO, all these exclusives should just go on pre-order at some point so that everyone who wants a figure/set can get it at a fair price. I don't mind if they do a Con exclusive and reward the people who actually pay money to attend cons to get one first. Then open it up for pre-order for the rest of the folks to get it at a later production date. More money for Hasbro (or any company that chooses this route).Slowly eliminate scalpers once and for all...
