I passed on this one to hold out for his classic 70s outfit. I really hope I made the right call and it doesn't take years to get him.
If only they could keep reusing this Falcon mold (minus the wing inserts) instead of regular Sunfire mold, this figure has normal superhero looking shoulders instead of horribly low sitting small shoulders of Sunfire mold that easily ruins whole figure for me, it's just satisfying to look at that Falcon, bigger shoulders might seem like a small minor thing but they literally make whole figure look so much better.
While I do like this version a bit more then the Fixit wave, maybe because this feels a bit more like his classic costume, it's still such a random re-paint release, and hardly different enough then the recent figure that came out like...a year a go, this is an easy pass, now if we had gotten a classic version I'd have jumped on that and chucked the modern look fig in a bin, but until we get that I'm fine with what I have both figures arn't really that stupendous IMO.
Weird, I just talked myself out of this one, after defending it as a solid placeholder. Cancelled my pre-order. I'm sure the Falcon's popularity isn't going to dip very much as Sam Wilson's prominence rises in the MCU, so I can wait for a better more classic version of the figure.
Skipped on the first Falcon and still not surte about getting this one, if he had Redwing, I definitely would

That's his first appearance outfit from 1969, and he wore it when he would guest star off and on in Captain America's book. Later they became full- time partners (Marvel's dynamic duo). The Falcon wanted to go his own way after awhile, and to underline that, he came up with the red/white costume that became his iconic, classic look (1971). John Romita designed that outfit (which had one gauntlet that Redwing could rest on without clawing holes in Sam's skin, it also had his retractable "hawk hook") and then mid-70s, when Cap briefly got actual super-strength, Falcon got his first set of wings so he wouldn't be just another "costumed athlete" (Sal Buscema designed it, really just added the cool wings and modified the headpiece). He's worn that ever since. Red White & Wings is Falcon's classic outfit (like red/gold armor is Iron Man's classic look, but his first appearance armor was the lead gray suit). Just a side note, I think it would be cool if Legends brought back the "hawk hook" gauntlet. He never actually wore that with the winged suit in the comics, but all they have to do is take Mysterio's gauntlet and repaint it, viola!
It's cool, but I'm still waiting for the 70s version of his costume. And I hope they put him on a larger figure body; Sam was never that much smaller than Cap!
I like this version well enough as a modern update of his classic look. Really, the bare biceps are the reason I skipped the last version and waited for this one; weird detail to be hung up on, I'll admit, but I think it's part of the character. So yeah, happy to get this one as a place holder for now, because I love Falcon, but I do hope we get both the first appearance green costume designed by Gene Colan as well as classic/iconic red and white look by Sal Buscemi. That's the version we're getting in the retro 3.75" line (which also comes with Redwing) so I believe it's only a matter of time. tarot - 2021-12-03 @ 11:22 pm

Seems this Falcon is the only Retro carded figure to have a modern suit. Weird choice. This figure seems really, really small. Also, lots of reviews for figures that most online retailers say arent out for months yet. How are they getting figures so early? Yes it's comic accurate. it based around the time he was working with Bucky Cap.
