As we told you last weekend, some
Walmart stores began selling early
Hasbro's new wave
Thor: Love And Thunder Marvel Legends figures which have an official sale date of April 26, and yes that date from what I can tell still stands.
Never-the-less since
Hasbro has yet to officially announce these figures so we will continue to put the minor spoiler warning when we post about them even though they will be out everywhere long before the movie releases in theaters on July 8.
Now while Walmart since last weekend has seemingly put a cashier lockout on the figure at most if not all stores, quit a few folks were able to buy them and of course took pictures. Today we share these in-hand out of package images of the new
Armored Thor figure sent to us by
Zactionfigures.
The armor seems to be a nice nod to the armor
Thor wore for a while in the comics and was originally designed by
Walt Simonson.
Again this wave of figures official sale date should be April 26 at which point you will be able to pre-order them online or find them at physical stores like Walmart or Target. I don't expect everyone to necessarily have them in-hand by the 26th like Walmart, but at that point they should be much easier to purchase.

I do recall the Giant-Man wave being a mix of comics and mcu (with Cap, Black Panther, and i think Iron Man being the mcu figures, along with the BAF) but can't remember what wave preceded it. They did not do an all mcu wave afterwards to my recollection though.
I had to go back and relook at the ML Civil War waves,
Wave One was comic based.
Wave Two was a mixture and not a complete movie wave like I thought.
Wave Three about the same.
I would have liked them to do a one wave comic based Thor wave released first giving us Skurge and maybe the warriors three. Then give us this movie wave as a follow up wave 2.

They could do a wave with Beta Ray Bill, the Warriors Three, Air-Walker, Sif from the fan vote, bearded Thor with armor ( or that Masterson outfit) and Surtur as the BAF

Nope, Black Panther was the first to have a mixed wave and then a full MCU wave

I do think they used to make more of an effort to get out comic versions of characters that would be appearing in movies, beforehand, so in that sense i agree. Mostly i'm thinking of various spider-man figures that came out prior to Spider-verse, but there are other pure mcu examples as well, i'm just blanking on them at the moment (need more coffee)

Comic accurate Beta Ray Bill and the fan favorite Sif from years ago would really have bumped up this wave, or maybe a comic accurate Executioner. Did they ever do an MCU first appearance Thor (the one time he wore his helmet)? I'm still waiting on how they work in Warriors Three. Bottom line is, once again I see that the fans have better ideas than anything else. Or, Hasbro, look at it this way...we're saying "Take My Money". If you listen to us, that is.

I found Ravenger Thor at Walmart on Sunday and tried to buy him but it got locked up at the self checkout and I was told I could not buy this yet. I shrugged my shoulders and said whatever. Hasbro had their chance to sell me this figure and they blew it so I am not interested in this wave.
That ice is getting pretty thin Hasbro. Mattel has been winning me over with Masterverse anyways.
