20th Century Fox has begun test casting with a small group of actresses for the female lead opposite Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool. The group consisting of Sarah Greene, Jessica De Gouw, Morena Baccarin, Taylor Schilling, Crystal Reed and Rebecca Rittenhouse.
The film is being directed by Tim Miller, who has been developing the project for years from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg producing. Production begins in March with a February 2016 release.
