Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have selected writer-directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein to write the Spider-Man reboot movie. The pair also had their names in the ring to direct the new Spider-Man movie but the job was given to Jon Watts, and the studio already has found its new Peter Parker in Tom Holland.
The next step in production is to get a script ready as the feature is set with a July 28th, 2017 release. Amy Pascal and Marvel’s Kevin Feige are producing the latest project, which finds the action set in high school — though it is not considered to be an origin story.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein are credited with writing and directing the upcoming reboot in New Line’s Vacation and writing the Horrible Bosses films and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. They also co-wrote the script for Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2, which came from Sony’s Columbia Pictures.
