Fox's Short List Of Actresses To Play Female Lead In 'Gambit'

Deadline is reporting with Channing Tatum set for Fox's Rupert Wyatt-directed X-Men spinoff Gambit, the studio is now test screening actress for the leading role of Belladonna Boudreaux aka Bella. The studio will be testing Lea Seydoux, who is currently in the 007 film Spectre; Rebecca Ferguson, who recently was in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Abbey Lee, who was recently in Mad Max: Fury Road.

In X-Men lore, Bella was Gambit’s love since childhood, but she eventually gained powers of her own and became head of the Assassin’s Guild. Gambit, aka Remy LeBeau, was head of the Thieves Guild.
