New images from the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok movie have been released via
EW. The new images give us a look at Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) new look as well as looks at new characters
Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Hela (Cate Blanchett) and
Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). The images also give us a look at the planet
Sakaar which is as Hemsworth describes is the galaxy dumping point for the worst of the worst.
“[Sakaar is] basically where every wormhole across the universe dumps out its trash, so you get people from all walks of life with all sorts of incredible abilities and powers,” said lead actor, Chris Hemsworth. “No one cares what prince or king Thor may have been in another world. Also, his strength is pretty easily matched with those he finds himself amongst.”
Thor apparently will be also be without the use of his trusty hammer for a good part of the movie, at least that is what it sounds like based on the official movie synopsis from Marvel.
“In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!”
The new images also give us looks at returning characters such as
Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and
Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). Thor: Ragnarok will be released on November 8th.
