Avengers: Infinity War Likely To Beat Force Awakens For #1 Domestic Weekend Box Office Opening

Avengers: Infinity War is on track to bring in $250 million this weekend from the US box office. This would be enough to surpass the current #1 domestic opening weekend box office holder which is Star Wars: Force Awakens. Force Awakens brought in $248 million back in 2015 for it's US opening weekend.

The final tallies for this weekend's box office won't be released until tomorrow and the final amount could vary some, but all indications are there is a new king in Hollywood, and it's Marvel.

Infinity War joins 5 other movies in history to break the $200 million mark for it's US domestic weekend opening. The other 5 include Star War: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Jurassic World, Avengers and Black Panther. We will update this story tomorrow once the final weekend box office tallies have been released.
