Actor
Bill Murray let it slip recently in an interview with the
German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine that he will be appearing in the upcoming
Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania movie.
According to Murray (translation comes via
Variety) he decided to do a Marvel movie based on his desire to work with director Peyton Reed.
“In any case, some people were quite surprised why I decided on such a project,” Murray said. “But for me the thing was quite clear: I got to know the director — and really liked him very much. He was funny, humble, everything you want from a director.”
No word yet on what role he will play or how significant it will be to the overall movie, but likely this will be the one and only time we see Murray in a MCU film.
“Let’s put it this way: the director is a good guy, and now I’ve at least tried out what it’s like to shoot a Marvel movie,” Murray told FAZ when asked if he regrets making a superhero film. “But I don’t think I need that experience a second time.”
Of course this won't be the only time we see Murray and the movies main star Paul Rudd work on the same project as both are expected to be in the new Ghostbusters Afterlife movie from Sony.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is expected to hit theaters now on July 28, 2023.
