Russell Crowe is joining the case of Sony's upcoming Spider-Man spin-off
Kraven the Hunter movie. No word on what role he will be playing in the movie which is being directed by J.C. Chandor from a screenplay by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing.
Crowe is also appearing over in the main MCU in the next Thor movie where he is rumored to be playing the character Zeus, which I doubt will have any connection with this movie. Crowe won't be the first actor to have played different characters in different versions of the Marvel Universe. The most notable actor is Josh Brolin who played major bad guy Thanos in the main MCU as well as Cable in the 20th Century Fox universe.

Yeah he would have been a really good kraven like 20 years ago haha. Seriously tho, how he was physically in gladiator he would have been a sick kraven.
Yeah he would be perfect especially if they really wanted to make Kraven's last hunt story, which would mix perfectly with Crowe's talent, It would work great as Third Amazing Spider-man, but this would require their prior history to exist which sadly isn't the case, big part of allure to that story comes from their shared past, who knows maybe Sony is building towards that, and they include Andrew Garfield in that movie in minor secret role.
