Aaron Pierre has signed on to co-star opposite Ali Mahershala in Marvel’s new Blade movie, starring Mahershala as the iconic vampire hunter. Pierre's character is unknown at this time.
The film will be directed by Bassam Tariq, from a script penned by Stacy Osei-Kuffour. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is producing.
The character of Blade was created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan and first appeared as a supporting character in Tomb of Dracula No. 10 in 1973. He is a human-vampire hybrid, thanks to his mother being bitten and killed by a blood-sucker during childbirth. In the '90s, the character was played by Wesley Snipes when New Line adapted the comic into a hit movie. Snipes played the character through two more sequels following.
Pierre is credited with the voice of Mufasa in The Lion King prequel, and key roles in M. Night Shyamalan’s Old and Jenkins Amazon event series The Underground Railroad.

What good is a fresh viewpoint it the movie is pretty much already plotted out and the director is unnecessary? Under that layout they could basically hire the guy who changes the urinal cakes in the restrooms as just a figurehead. I've never heard that but under the way Disney is said to run things I'm guessing this is 100 percent accurate.

And that's what I've been hearing all these years, and if the director works, they'll give him more freedom, like Taika...

I know it's Disney's thing to pluck these people out of obscurity and mold them to the "Disney Way", but maybe pick someone with a little more experience for these multi-million dollar, highly anticipated projects.
