Great podcast, thanks! To me the Hasbro Guys made it clear why they can't spill all of the info now, and its true. Part of the excitement as a collector is to guess and anticipate the next figures in the series. What fun is it if we know the entire 2008 lineup now? Some sneak peeks of prototypes or even concept sketches of planned figures would be great. Similar to what the Four Horsemen do with their figures when they begin working on a new one.

On another note, perhaps the next one can ask them about the results of the Wizard Poll, who's getting made, when is it coming out and when can we expect to see the others?

they only people who are affected here are scalpers

How will it affect scalpers? They'll just be interested in the variants which aren't affected by the Beast issue.

Glad to hear that officially, that the Iron Man movie toyline will be 6" scale. I would imagine that the Iron Man movie line may include some characters who only appear in the movie based video games, as well as maybe a few Iron Man armour variants and recolours(Hydro Armour, Space Armour, a repaint as the Artric/Ice Armour, repaint as the red and silver armour, repaint of the 1st appearence movie armour as gold, a repaint as Stealth Armour, a repaint with a bit of remolding as War Machine, etc.). Either way, I'm defently looking forward to this line. As for the Spider-man 6" line, if it's based on the upcoming new Spidey cartoon, I think it will be interesting, and I'm sure that I'll pick up a few characters from the new show(Espeically if the designs are good, even if they are on the toony side).

I would imagine that The Incrediable Hulk movie figures will also be in the 6" scale. If that's the case, I think it will be sort of interesting if they did a speical Movie Iron Man And/V.S. Hulk 2 pack(Either as a store exclusive or for wide release). Perhaps, maybe even having a Movie style/based Hulkbuster Iron Man like armour for the Iron Man figure for the 2 pack(Yeah, I'm well aware that the Hulkbuster armour isn't in the Iron Man movie, but still, I think it would be cool Iron Man variant for the movie line. The head would have Robert Downey Jr.'s head sculpt under the helment. And it would give people a chance to get a Hulkbuster Iron Man figure for those who missed out on the Marvel Legends release of it). Or at the very least, Hasbro could just re-release the ML Hulkbuster Iron Man and a ML Hulk for a 2008 ML 2 pack instead, which could be just as a good way of reperesenting the idea of these 2 characters having movies in 2008.

What a hassle, either way.

Perhaps, but whole-case buyers are in the extreme minority of the action-figure buying public. I applaud Hasbro's decision to take the time to rework a sub-par figure, and simulatenously use the problem this created as an outlet to get an in-demand figure into more customer's hands.

In fact, the only people who this messes up are those who buy by the case. Sorry.

True, case buyers are the ones who are the most inconvenienced here, but I don't think they're the only ones. It's going to be a pain for people at retail as well. I know you can't always get lucky enough to find the full set in a store at the same time, but it's nice when you can. And knowing in advance you're going to have to go out hunting again for something a few weeks after it hits isn't exactly convenient, especially while overall distribution of the line continues to be inconsistent.

I do applaud Hasbro for fixing the figure, but it's still a hassle for everyone who wants the whole wave. And I also think you underestimate the number of people buying on-line. They may be a minority, but I wouldn't go so far as to call them an "extreme" minority. A lot of people on the boards have been ordering cases or individual figures from on-line retailers ever since the distribution nightmare that was ML6 and 7.

beast is coming a month after they hit

most of you guys wont even see the wave until 2 months after they first hit

they only people who are affected here are scalpers

no news about the icons. but i don't think that the icons line will be cancelled. they talked about not having plans of producing a transparent icons human torch, if they were cancelling the line, they may have brought it up at that moment. just my opinion.

hajime - 2007-11-27 @ 8:21 am

ah!

how about icons?
