One of them is easy: Wrecker is the ONLY character that can truly complete a team, because the Fantastic Four still needs Sue, She-Hulk, She-Thing and (if we're being technical) Storm & Ghost Rider. The Wrecking Crew needs only the Wrecker.First member of a team is trickier, and it looks like a lot of people are going for Dark Avengers, but since both Bullseye and Hawkeye have been released, I really don't think you could claim Iron Patriot as the first member, although it would be ridiculously easy to just repaint Iron Man and release him. I would guess Iron Patriot will be one of the store exclusives, though. I would also guess that "different sources" indicates perhaps a fast food tie-in of some sort to coincide with the release of Iron Man 2.
Riffing off that idea, there's no catch that one hint couldn't also be another, so those "exclusives" may also be an unexpected Iron Man version, like perhaps Ultimate Iron Man. Two characters from the first year getting a new version? Well, it has already been stated that Iron Man & Spidey were two! Unless he said two "more" I have to assume it's Starker & Parker. In the same vein, the new "captain" could be Captain Universe Spider-man, in a version that not many would expect. Or line up to purchase, for that matter. I'm not knocking it, mind you, I'd be in the line. It would just be a very short line.
My guess for the new team getting its first member is Young X-Men, with X-23 as the first member.
As for the character NO ONE could have predicted, I'm guessing it's someone that hasn't been shown in the comics yet, but Marvel is working to launch in a big way, similar to how Anti-Venom had barely made his first appearance when suddenly there was a Marvel Select toy of him. I'm guessing this, because, quite literally, no one could have predicted it if this were true!
If I had to guess two other characters from year one that would get new versions (that we don't already know about like Thing), my money would be on Spider-woman and Hulk. It seems almost obvious. I think they really missed the boat not releasing a "King Hulk" figure along with the Planet Hulk DVD, but I expect they will try to capitalize on that soon. I wouldn't mind, though, an entire line of Planet Hulk action figures. The very thought of it made me drool a little just then.
Everyone is taking about a Team being Completed but no one talks about "Heroes for Hire"
Iron fist is out and Cage is coming.
His own series canceled due to low sales, Iron Fist joined the cast of Luke Cage, Power Man in a three-part storyline in #4850. The comic's name changed to Power Man and Iron Fist from #50 upwards. The two formed a new Heroes for Hire, Inc, founded by attorney Jeryn Hogarth and staffed by administrative wunderkind Jennie Royce.
