Solace Management, the firm that represents actor Kevin Pennington today revealed on their Twitter Page that Kevin would not be playing the role of Captain Mar-Vell in the Avengers movie.
"Kevin Pennington is NOT Captain Marvel for Marvel Studios "The Avengers"."
This Tweet is probably in response to rumors that began popping up on sites who were reporting that Pennington would be playing Mar-Vell and that the Skrull's would be the main bad guys for the Avengers movies.
Our money is still on Rick Jones, but only time will tell. San Diego Comic-Con in July is probably when we will most likely hear official word on who Pennignton will play along with a few other cast announcements.
UPDATE: As I am typing this story, I noticed the Tweet above has already been deleted by Solace Management, however it still shows up on my Tweetdeck application ;)
