UPDATE: Following up on news from last week,
Variety is now reporting that the deal for Kevin Bacon to star in the upcoming "X-Men: First Class" movie is done. It is said he will be playing a villain, but as to which one, that news is being kept secret for now.
Deadline is reporting that actor Kevin Bacon is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to play a bad guy in the upcoming "X-Men: First Class" movie. No word on which villain he would play though seeing how the actor is older than most of the other cast members it would seem he would have to be someone with a lot of makeup or someone much older than Professor Xavier and Magneto who in this movie will be played by the younger James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS begins production this summer for a June 3, 2011 release. Bryan Singer, who conceived the story for FIRST CLASS and directed the original “X-Men” and its sequel “X2,” is producing along with Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg. Matthew Vaughn is directing.
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known.
