Mark Ruffalo To Replace Norton As Bruce Banner In The Avengers?

Deadline is reporting that actor Mark Ruffalo ("Where the Wild Things Are") is in final negotiations to take over the role of Bruce Banner/Incredible Hulk that was recently vacated by Edward Norton for the upcoming "The Avengers."

Ever since news broke earlier this week that Norton would not be reprising his role of Banner for "The Avengers," rumors have been spreading like wild fire about possible replacements. Such rumors have included Joaquin Phoenix and Adrien Brody, Nathan Fillion and David Tennant.

It is expected than an official announcement on who will play the role of Banner will be made next week during the San Diego Comic-Con. The Avengers" opens in theaters on May 4, 2012.
