The new Thor figures and products from Hasbro have started to hit such retailers as Target stores, though the official release date technically isn't supposed to be until March 1st. On of the figures that apparently will be released is a new Deluxe Figure version for the Frost Giant. There was not mention of this figure by Hasbro, but reports are coming in of it being the second figure released in the Deluxe assortment. Check out the image below.

The Target DCPI # for regular figures is being reported as 087-06-1449 with figures costing in the neighborhood of $13 each while the Deluxe figure DCPI# is said to be 087-06-1504.

If you start finding these early at your local retail outlets, let us know about your finds below.

I like the Frost Giants... I just don't have any use for them since I won't be buying any of the other movie-inspired Thor figures... those Frost Giants don't go with comic-styled figures...

The deluxe MU version that comes with Loki looks like it could fit in with the movie versions as sort of a beefed up berserker (yes, it's a stretch, but look no further than the variations in the comic Skrulls), and the group doesn't stand out that much when lined up with the rest of the villians in any of the current lines.

And, to be fair, the MU Skrull is way more detailed and darkly painted than his comic version. I imagine the movie version of the Skrulls won't be that different. As a fan of the comics and the figures, I look for variety, and the Frost Giants finally have that going for them.

Yes, this is exactly how I feel bout the FGs. I plan on using the MU one as Ymir{?} from the comics, kinda the FGs' version of Thor/their champion warrior. I love the variety we're getting with them. I've picked up two single ones as well as the deluxe so once I add King Laufey and the Ice Claw version as well as the MU one I'll have quite a little squad of FGs.

Off topic but i checked out the Avengers Assemble website and also noticed an 8 Destroyer figure. It seems to me that Destroyer in the movie looks about 1o-12 foot tall. Is anybody else going to sacrifice articulation and get that Destroyer because its truer in scale?

Im glad the deluxe frost giants are showing up in other stores. I had asked if they were exclusive to Target because I hadnt seen them anywhere else. Luckily I found 2 deluxe FG at TRU last night. It was odd because the only Thor stuff they had were deluxe figures.

HERE is that figure

it's 8 inches tall, which would make it twice as tall as the 4 inchers... I don't know if that is how tall he will look in the Movie.

but he might also be nice for the ML line... an 8 foot destroyer??

I really like the ML15 Destroyer though..

With the addition of the two other Frost Giant figures, I finally had a reason to keep and open my Deluxe Frost Giant. Having four different figures together will look much better than simply having a regular and repaint standing side by side.

Sorry if it's been mentioned already, but I was at TRU today and saw the Deluxe Frost Giants for $9.99 rather than Target's $12.99. It's still a bit pricey, but I picked one up anyway. Love the darker blue paint scheme. He's leading my other Frost Giants against the Avengers on my shelf.

Alright so its pretty cool to have some different frost giants out there so we can have some variety for those of us that choose to army build with them. Pesonally I'll pick up a few of these but I'd rather grab 2 or 3 of the MU frost giant once it comes out.

Anyway, my question is this: We knew King Laufey was coming courtesy of BBTS case breakdown but I haven't seen or heard of the Ice Claw Frost Giant. It looks like its a deluxe figure but its not in the series 1 or 2 according to BBTS. Could this mean there are more figures for this line that they haven't announced? (of course if there are, they are probably just more Thors)

checked my Target and TRU tonight and they restocked Thor line. Thor is out there like crazy. I saw Odin, Loki, single and deluxe frost giants. I may go back and grab a few duplicates
