There's always a chance if this GotG pack flies off shelves and fans clamor for full-sized Groot that they repack RR with a unique-sculpt GB Groot. Also, I can't believe how cheaply they could do a Major Victory/Vance Astro that we don't see one eventually. Maybe even a comic pack with another teammate.
Oh, thanks, spambot for bumping an old thread. Wow, I was so young and naive then.
Don't beat urself up. It actually was getting off the shelves pretty fast through the first 10 releases of it, but by the 30th release all was said and done. They should have just packed a lot of those up and saved them for the release of the movie. You never know, that movie may bring those comic figures.....sike! haha. That would be too gud to be true.

So how long before Howard the duck gets any love?
He'd be a great pack-in/inside joke with She-hulk.
Well I'm a bit dissapointed that they didnt go with a Gigantic Battles pack for RR and Groot but I'll take what I can get. I'm ok with that version of Drax because he's been like that for a couple years now. Only recently in the Thanos Imperative did he switch back to his more OG look. There's been a few comments that this might spur a few more single carded GoG or Cosmic figures. I hate to be pessimistic but dont hold your breath. We still can't even make a complete X-Men team or a Fantastic 4 in the same costumes. And with the reveal of Wave 5 it looks like 2011 is the year of repaints.
Oh MU, you're like a bad girlfriend who's great in bed. I know I should quit you but I just keep coming back for more punishment.
LOL @ the girlfriend comment.

The gloves looked accurate. They looked, though, like they might rotate at the wrist rather than the way the Cap gloves rotate.

oh really? I can't see the gloves that good in this fuzzy pic. If they are comic accurate, I will be happy.
More and more it seems like the box sets and comic packs are the place to go in this series for new stuff. Cutting the number of figures released in the single-card waves didn't balance those scales any.
I sat in my local comic shop and stared very closely at that picture of the new sets. First of all, on Starlord I do see that the gloves are gloves like Captain America's, with a splay and a flap cut in them. I dunno if those are professional seamstress's terms. Whatever. It looks like they have figured some way of modifying the AIM soldier's arms so that he's wearing Starlord-shaped gloves. The boots look the same as the AIM Soldier/Ghost Rider boots, but I've seen pictures of Starlord on the net where he has those kind of boots--dark, shiny leather with some kind of strap at the top. I think his sculpt is a little more accurate than it appeared in the previous photo of the page in Preview.
Rocket Raccoon does appear to have some kind of head articulation, but looking at the pose of the legs, and the swooping sculpt of his pantaloons, I really doubt that the legs move. Again I cringe thinking about what will happen if they decide to make Puck.
The Preview magazine lists this set and the Fantastic Four set as being available in September.
As soon as I said "Getting characters like this helps keep things fresh, so I'm happy to see it," I saw the latest wave announcement of all previously done characters. D'oh!

I agree that this bodes well for future character selection. Considering most of the two main figures are kitbashes, but kitbashes that fit the character, I'm cool with it. I'd much rather the MU line branches out to the mid 90's Toybiz style of giving every character who appeared in at least 2 panels a figure instead of using new molds and tooling for yet another Iron Man costume.
I'm not a modern GotG fan, but I'll be sure to pick this pack up just because of how cool Starlord looks. I need to read up on the modern cosmic verse.
As far as missing characters go, the heavy hitters that we are missing will come further down the line. Hasbro needs characters to keep people excited about the line. So if we don't see a Professor X for another year, I can deal. Getting characters like this helps keeps things fresh, though, so I'm happy to see it.
