Will Hasbro Show Off Their Third Wave Of Marvel Legends X-Men 97 Figures Soon???

We only have a couple of days until the new Hasbro Marvel Legends Fan-Stream which takes place this Thursday (5/29) at 11am ET.

As we get closer to the event we find ourselves speculating on what we might see revealed during the event. The other day we told you the Fantastic Four: First Step MCU figures we expect to see revealed during the stream that should go up for pre-order this Friday (5/30) at 1pm ET.

Besides the Fantastic Four we also feel like we might get more details about the Shanna The She-Devil figure they revealed a few weeks ago. Will it be part of this years San Diego Comic Con exclusive???

Another item we think that we might see during the stream is the next wave of X-Men 97 figures. Originally the third wave was going to be released at the beginning of 2025 but then got delayed until the second half of the year. It's possible these might not be shown until SDCC, but I do think the possibility of seeing them this week are decent. We first reported back in November of last year that the wave was "Rumored" to include the following figures:

- Morph
- Jubilee
- Emma Frost
- Cable
- Roberto da Costa
- Logan (Casual)

As far as we can tell that line-up has not changed since last November. Note the images below are for reference only and some of the figures like Cable might be in different outfits or have different looks assuming this Rumor turns out to be true.

Like I say, if we don't see these announced this week then I believe we will see them at San Diego Comic Con in July. Hasbro had said last month their would only be one more Live-Stream before SDCC, so we assume this week will be the last batch of major Marvel Legends reveals until July.

As far as what else we might see revealed this week, well I have a few more ideas but for now I will just say we will just have to wait and see on Thursday.

I would be all in on a Goliath-bill foster MTO or whatever format Hasbro uses. And it's a shame that Hasbro hasn't capitalized on Thunderbolts, with so many characters that need figures based on that run. When else would Hasbro release an Atlas?

While I don't really care for movie figures I do like the head sculpt, there could be some utility with it for comic book style figures if the colors of plastic match.

I would have liked to have seen a Galactus BAF. I miss the large BAFs.

I wouldn't mind the lack of BAFs so much if the figures had higher quality or more accessories to compensate. Currently, we're just paying the same price for less toy. We're frogs in a slowly boiling pot.

Something I've been noticing with multiple recent Marvel Legends, particularly MCU ones, that is also true for Johnny here: has anyone noticed the torso on a decent number of recent figures is kinda thin relative to the arms? Off the top of my head I also noticed this on Thunderbolts Sentry, and to a lesser extent Iron Man Retro Wave/F4 Retro She-Hulk, but I think there are others too.

It's a Marvel Legends thing, idk why, but they have a tendency to make their figure, and especially their MCU figures, scrawny compared to their real-life counterparts.

So what game are the two sets under the Gamerverse banner supposed to be based on? They are all also characters that appear in MvC but the also appear in games like Contest of Champions. And if they're doing CoC why on Earth do they not use it as an excuse to do figures that haven't been done yet or are badly in need of update? It's just a bunch of repetition.

The sweater look to the uniforms means I'm out on the Sue figure, unless the head is so amazing I can use it elsewhere (which is very rare with MCU heads).

I hope the only stuff to go up on Friday is the FF4 wave. I'm not sure I can be available at 1 PM for Shanna or MvC preorders.

Re: FF: First Steps Human Torch

I guess it looks okay. Not a big fan of the uniforms they're wearing in this movie to begin with but I understand they are meant to match the decor and design of the movie. Which is fine. I expect them to get a significant upgrade once they enter the MCU Prime. Not happy they're using the Johnny/Torch theme to pass off two different figures but I guess that's going to be a thing. I know it's probably cool with most people but I'm not a collector of civilian identities and this is indeed what Johnny is. I know he'll spend the majority of the movie as Johnny but to me it's basically the same thing as doing a Scott Summers or T'Challa civilian figure. I mean 90 percent of the Hulk's presence in the movies are spent as Bruce Banner but heck they didn't even do a Banner figure on either the comics or MCU side until many years after the Hulks were done. Similarly a Peter Parker figure was a long time coming after a number of Spider-Man had been done. But Johnny gets his on his first outing? To me it's just a cheap way to reuse the same mold. I know they had to fill out the wave but they could have used a few spots to slide some comic based product in there. However I am glad that it's looking like there's not a BAF for this wave because it would have most likely been Galactus and as a BAF it would have been laughably undersized. However if they had done a BAF they could have done a comic based character we are badly in need of. What about Awesome Android? Better yet what about Annihilus? Bottom line is I'm cool with it either way. Had they done it with an amazing BAF and I had to buy the entire wave I would have been okay but as it's looking to not have a BAF I'm just cool to cherry pick them or just wait until they go on sale which I'm fairly certain they will do as most MCU figures do and I will be okay with that too.

But I know I can't be the only one to notice they did not show the back of the box which they almost always do to show off the art. That is unless they have something they're trying to hide. So there may yet be a surprise BAF coming. Then again if it is indeed a little bitty teeny Galactus BAF it won't actually be that much of a surprise at all.Or it could be to hide a surprise character. Maybe Mole Man who's rumored to be in the movie.
