In the cover image, she doesn't look like she's even paying attention to Thor. She seems to be scared of something on the other side of the viewer's perspective, so you might be onto something.

Sif is a character they could explore deeper in her own book. A solid bad as character the hasn't been diluted by being impersonated by 15 other people wearing the costume...
